Dragon-building!

I've featured Nuju Metru's skillfully created Dragon Lands custom theme here before, and now the builder has announced a dragon-building contest! You can read the rules and guidelines on Flickr here. 

The best part is, to make the dragon building a little smoother for the newbies, Nuju Metru has created three instruction sheets with some advice for basic skeletons, heads, limbs, wings, and decorations. Take a look:

This looks like a fun contest, and those guide pages are really well done. I look forward to seeing the army of dragons that is sure to come! 

City slickers

Today Brickology's going full speed ahead and bringing you the finest in luxury vehicles. Both of these bad boys use stylish techniques and shiny chromed bricks to give you the best riding experience in the inner city. 

First up is Ordo's model of Asami's Satomobile from Legend of Korra: 

Speeding along behind it, spruced up with shiny custom parts from Chrome Block City, we have this roarin' Harley Davidson Cali-style lowrider from bricksonwheels: 

This concludes our tour of the mean streets of LEGO City. You will now be escorted back to your primitive sedans and minivans. If anyone would like to help us scrub the tire marks off the pavement, that would be much appreciated. 

LEGO Dragon Lands Series 2!

A couple of months ago I reported on the awesome custom Dragon Lands theme by Nuju Metru. Well now the builder is back with series two of his great theme! 

Dragon Lands has a fantastic, well-thought-out backstory, and the sets are designed just like real ones...or even better. So I suggest you go check out Nuju Metru's work via the link above.  I know I'm not the only one that wishes he worked on the LEGO Castle design team... 

Life's better with a Titan

The game Titanfall has inspired a fair few MOCs (like this one) with its futuristic mechs and weapons. This amazing model of an Atlas Titan from the game is by -infomaniac-. 

Custom stickers on the mech are from The Cooper Works. 

Custom theme: LEGO Dragon Lands by Nuju Metru

Often, custom LEGO themes created by fans are nothing more than jumbled bricks and badly built models with a few hastily cobbled-together minifgures. Now and again, though, I find one that stands out due to its originality and quality of building. One such example is the Dragon Lands theme created by Flickr user Nuju Metru. 

The theme appears to revolve around a league of humans and their dragons fighting trolls (or some such enemy) who themselves own other dragons. The concept is intriguing, and the sets are very well designed.
